The God Who Sees Me
Drawing from the often-overlooked story of Hagar in Genesis 16, this sermon explores the fact - that God sees every person; including those who feel forgotten, marginalized, or trapped in circumstances they hadn't chosen. Hagar, an Egyptian slave with no voice and no rights, becomes the first person in Scripture to give God a name -- El Roi, the God who sees me. -- This message connects her story to millions today who feel unseen in an increasingly impersonal world, as Peter points out - "we rub shoulders with people every day that are happily on their way to hell ... and we don't think about it". May we always go about our lives (wherever life takes us) as instruments of Jesus Christ - ready to share the Hope we have within - through practical acts of love - to those around us.
