This message explores the spiritual gift of discerning of spirits as outlined in 1 Corinthians 12. This discernment is a supernatural ability given by the Holy Spirit to recognize and distinguish between what is true and what is false, between Godly and ungodly spirits operating behind physical circumstances. While we live in a physical world, there is always a spiritual backdrop to our circumstances, and we need the Holy Spirit's discernment to navigate life effectively. We're encouraged to develop our spiritual sensitivity through daily Bible reading (for protection), prayer (for direction), and in that to pray "without ceasing" - so that we have an intentional awareness of God's presence in every situation and remain connected to the ultimate source of all life and truth.
